Scope

Design a socially engaging website that is politically oriented and allows users to sign up for a newsletter. Spoiler alert- the political blog nature of this website is meant to cater to and leans more than slightly to the left.

Process

Conducted during the web development course at general assembly - we first were tasked with coming up with a thoughtful business concept. For me, it was super easy as these topics are always front and center in my day-to-day. We then created a high-fidelity design in Figma and went straight into the build.

Solution

The main component that required some advanced skills was the MailChimp integration that allows user to subscribe to a newsletter via a web form. I added multiple layers of security and validation using JavaScript and reg-ex.
